Track Name: A Cat Named Toad
I once knew a cat named Toad
Living with this girl I know
Got engaged, and my abode
Became the home for a cat named Toad

I knew him for about a year
That cat had not one single fear
His best friend named Bibi
Was very greedy

'Cause she took all of his food
And got very, very fat
But that cat named Toad
Never ever attacked

I once knew a cat named Toad
Living with this girl I know
Got engaged, and my abode
Became the home for a cat named Toad

Those two cats bathed in the sun porch
Watched all of the animals
Get scorched
While they had their AC

I once knew a cat named Toad
Living with this girl I know
Got engaged, and my abode
Became the home for a cat named Toad

We took him to Ard-Vista
Whenever he got sick
And the veterinarian
Always made him better

I once knew a cat named Toad
Living with this girl I know
Got engaged, and my abode
Became the home...
I once knew a cat named Toad
Living with this girl I know
Got engaged, and my abode
Became the home for a cat named Toad

A cat named
A cat named
A cat named Toad
Track Name: A Picnic in the Rain
To the greyest mornin'
And wakin' from a dream
Where my wife and I went on a picnic
A picnic in the rain

We headed to the summit
Of a West Virginia mountain
It felt so astonishing
As she gazed at me

Crystalline memories
Descended upon us
Touched us on our foreheads
Reminding us of our love

To the greyest mornin'
And wakin' from a dream
Where my wife and I went on a picnic
A picnic in the rain

We laughed amidst the dew
And the West Virginia views
The fog was obscuring from us

The droplets in the air
Passed by our faces
The sight we shared
Reminders of our care

To the greyest mornin'
And wakin' from a dream
Where my wife and I went on a picnic
A picnic in the rain

Leaning in to kiss each other
One morning before new times
We renewed our beginning fall
And let the water inside

To the greyest mornin'
And wakin' from a dream
Where my wife and I went on a picnic
A picnic in the rain

To the greyest mornin'
And waking up it seemed
Where my wife and I went on a picnic
A picnic in the rain

Oh
Yeah
Track Name: Lemonade
You’ve walked into the store
And I’m waiting outside
Pausing to relax
Writing affirmations

I think of all the positive things
The moments we’ve made
The life, the happiness
As I drink this lemonade

You’ve loved me every moment
That we’ve had together
You are the reason
I wonder about the stars

I think of all the positive things
The moments we’ve made
The life, the happiness
As I drink this lemon
All the positive things
The moments we’ve made
The life, the happiness
As I drink this lemon

You’re the most beautiful thing
In the whole universe
You’re the love of my life
I’m proud to marry

I think of all the positive things
The moments we’ve made
The life, the happiness
As I drink this lemon
All the positive things
The moments we’ve made
The life, the happiness
As I drink this lemonade

As I drink this lemonade
Track Name: The Day That the World Met You
Shoes scattered across the front yard
The summer solstice was almost your bodyguard
Many evenings would probably have us flee
Dawn would come and make you the honoree

‘Cause May 13th, you made smiles anew
May 13th, us two kids in your bedroom
Woke you up but you already knew
‘Cause May 13th was the day that the world met you

Siblings sprinting to accumulate shares
The vulnerable leathers hanging from the Bradford pears
Many evenings would probably have us protect
Dawn would come and make you the architect

‘Cause May 13th, you made smiles anew
May 13th, us two kids in your bedroom
Woke you up but you already knew
‘Cause May 13th was the day...

As a little boy in your eyes always
I remember those soles and running down the upstairs hallway

‘Cause May 13th, you made smiles anew
May 13th, us two kids in your bedroom
Woke you up but you already knew
‘Cause May 13th was the day...
May 13th, you made smiles anew
May 13th, us two kids in your bedroom
Woke you up but you already knew
‘Cause May 13th was the day that the world met you

That the world met you
The day that the world met you
Track Name: The Vigor of the Coal Girl
She was born in Kentucky
Her father was a coal company doctor
And they moved to several coal towns
As she grew up

She had a brother
Who died at six months
A younger sister who spent
A lifetime with her

Her middle name was Gwyneth
She went to high school in Fairmont, WV
She took the SATs in Pittsburgh
But she didn’t complete a degree

Her husband was a traveling salesman
Gone most nights of the week
They had four kids including my mama
As a mother, she acted gracefully

Her middle name was Gwyneth
She was positive and energetic
She got along with everyone
And I was her grandson

She brought all sorts of adventures
When looking after me and my sister
Taught me how to wish on stars
And when I asked her she said,
“Good health is what you should first wish for”

I called her every day in college
Blazing down Trailwood Drive
She couldn’t wait to see the flowers
Outside her window, come springtime

She died March that year
I was spiritual and didn’t cry
‘Cause the vigor of the coal girl
Burns on inside my mind
Track Name: Front Door Angels of Heaven
It’s always Christmastime that Mom gets out her angel
She sets it out on her front door for all the strangers
To see from inside their cars as they speed down Westview Drive
It has felt feathers, and it has yellow yarn hair

It’s always Christmastime when get to admire that angel
Back again to see my family, I cross the threshold
Into the house which is festive, filled with decorations, and blessed down to the core
And its friendly fireplace and yummy yogurt bowls welcome all the traditions of old

And the angel makes it great, good, and wonderful
Guarding the gate while my tummy gets full
Snow shining under the moon as it rises
Moon as it rises

It’s always a beautiful night with all of my family
Playing card games and doing puzzles, as we watch a movie
The comfort of the couch, the living room lights are turned way down
Their intimate incandescent glow, their warm white bulbs alter the airflow

It’s always a beautiful night when all of us get together
Cherishing when we are near, ‘cause soon we will not get to be here someday
This divine place sold and filled with some other souls
They’re soon to be telling stories and there are many memories that are to be made

The angel will be gone for good, ephemeral
Handed down to our hands, the next generation
Our parents watching us from up above with God

They are front door angels of Heaven
And I’m still in Winston, decorations
On my door, on my door
Thinkin’ about the front door angel

Front door angel
Mom put on her house before
She sure was the front door angel
The front door angel

The front door angels of Heaven
They are the front door angels of Heaven
They are the front door angels, the front door angels of my house
On the door

The front door angels of Heaven
They are the front door angels of Heaven
The front door angels of my house
The home where I’ll be

Where I’ll be
Where I’ll be one day
Where I’ll be

The front door angels of Heaven
Welcome me to my home
Track Name: The Last Season
Sebastian is hiding in the den again
He’s back from the dead when I close my eyes
Sauntering through the kitchen, he comes back for attention
But for now I’ll pretend he’s hiding in the den again

If we could have him back, what would I change?
Seventeen years goes by too quickly
He’d grown up, together with me
Had a little brother who would tease
He survived the accidents and the backyard bees
But the bitter winter was the last season he’d see

He used to play out back all day long
Going after birds and squirrels, although I thought hunting was wrong
He liked to get all dirty as some boys do
He always had a belly full of food

If we could have him back, what would I change?
Seventeen years goes by too quickly
He’d grown up, together with me
Had a little brother who would tease
He survived the accidents and the backyard bees
But the bitter winter was the last season...

He wandered outdoors when I wasn’t home
To tell him about the incoming snow
It was a brutal storm, the last thing he’d know
I didn’t get to say, “I love you, cheerio”

If we could have him back, what would I change?
Seventeen years goes by too quickly
He’d grown up, together with me
Had a little brother who would tease...

Oh, if we could have him back, I would change everything
I would have come home sooner and told him not to leave
‘Cause he was a good boy, and ‘cause he listened to me
He survived the accidents and the backyard bees
Yeah, he survived the cars and those yellow jacket stings
But I couldn’t save him from that horrible freeze
So the bitter winter was the last season
Bitter winter was the last season
Bitter winter was the last season he’d see

Bitter winter
Track Name: Nothing but Time
We met up at the social club
A local watering hole
You were my best friend from that day on
It was like we had always known
Each other, like old souls
Our “walking philosopher” selves
Let’s go for another ring ‘round the block

‘Cause remembering the music
You were the backing track of my life
Our conversations—had me feeling right
You uplifted me and made me feel like the only one in the room
And outside, right downtown, feeling
Like we had nothin’ but time

We met up for a mountain hike
A Pilot Knob view
You were my safety from the bottom up
Uplifting my path and told
Me, maybe there’s a reason
And that was real when my spirit soared
Let’s take another climb to the rock

‘Cause remembering the music
You were the backing track of my life
Our conversations—had me feeling right
You uplifted me and made me feel like the only one in the room
And outside, way up there, feeling
Like we had nothin’ but time

Like we had nothin’ but time
We had nothin’ but

Existence was maybe all ours
Like magic when we were together
Talking away, it felt like forever

‘Cause remembering the music
You were the backing track of my life
Our conversations—had me feeling right
You uplifted me and made me feel like the only one in the room
And outside, on concrete, feeling
Like we had nothin’ but time

Remembering the music
We close friends listened to our lives
Our conversations—made us feel just right
We followed each other like the only ones on the sidewalk
And outside, we would talk, feeling
Like we had nothin’ but time

Like we had nothin’ but time
Like we had nothin’ but time
Track Name: Cereal in the Sink
He says one day we could miss
The bowls he leaves behind
With Frosted Flakes, Lucky Charms
And Corn Pops inside

So many, many, many spoons
And many, many, many moons
Dishwashing isn’t free to do
Takes all my time and money too

There’s cereal in the sink
There’s cereal in the sink
There’s cereal in the sink
And there’s no milk to drink

I like milk with other things
Raisin Bran and Mini Wheats
But every time I wash my bowl
It appears to have a hole

So many, many, many spoons
And many, many, many moons
Dishwashing isn’t free to do
Takes all my time and money too

There’s cereal in the sink
There’s cereal in the sink
There’s cereal in the sink
And there’s no milk...
My son has been home
It’s obvious, I think
There’s cereal in the sink
And there’s no milk to drink

We should seriously chastise him
And throw him out of the house
For that nuisance of a boy must learn
To put his food in his mouth!

There’s cereal in the sink
There’s cereal in the sink
There’s cereal in the sink
And there’s no milk...
My son has been home
It’s obvious, I think
There’s cereal in the sink
And there’s no milk...

There’s no milk...
There’s no milk to drink

Ugh. Isn't he disgusting?
